Introduction

GeoTest Laboratories Ltd specialises in testing & other activities associated with quality control,

monitoring and investigation of engineering properties of Construction and Geotechnical materials.

The Laboratory has been accredited since 1982 when it operated as Amec`s permanent Materials

and Geotechnical services laboratory.GeoTest became a separate independant company in April

2006 and continues the reputation as one of the leading materials testing laboratories in the country .

The reputation of the GeoTest brand for quality and reliability of service continues to grow as the

unprecedented level of investment in 2006 continues to enhance the level of service provided.

Scope of Operation

GeoTests purpose built premises at Adlington are well situated for all Motorway access and are well

equipped to carry out a wide range of tests .

Laboratory Testing

The  Laboratory can  perform  all routine soils tests in accordance with BS 1377 . We are UKAS

accredited for the majority of our work and are continuing to expand the scope of our accreditation .

We can also offer accredited aggregate testing to both  BS EN and BS812 standards and concrete

to BS EN and BS1881 standards .

In-Situ Testing

Away from the laboratory premises a comprehensive selection of on site activities are performed

including, accredited sampling of Soils,Aggregates and Concrete, Plate Load tests for CBR estimation

and drained or undrained loading characteristics and in situ density determination .

Environmental Monitoring 

On site environmental monitoring of landfill gases ,groundwater and surface emissions is a recent

development .GeoTest can now  provide a full a one stop service to meet  this requirement,

providing everything from sample containers to site monitoring and sample collection through liason

with sub contract laboratories to provide a final factual report.

Other Services

For services outside the laboratories scope a full sub contract management service is available

which uses a network of approved organisations with UKAS and MCerts accreditation where

appropriate .We can arrange sample containers and collection and advise on suitable storage

conditions to maintain complete integrity .

We can advise on your testing requirements to ensure that tests and frequency of testing are

correctly specified and interpreted from a basic desk study to providing the services of a dedicated

on site materials technician or even a full accredited on site laboratory .
